What I Learned This Week: 6

Short post.
What I learned this week:

** When Parker sleeps for 11 hours straight, it is pure heaven!
** I have a lot more things to get rid of than I thought.
** It's not just male cats that spray. I am learning this the hard way. Our female cat has started spraying.. I hate her!
** In part with the female cat spraying thing. A lot of people think if you get the cat fixed it makes the spraying stop but usually it doesn't.
** Graycen is growing too fast. She has really started to show her opinion a lot more than she used to.
** I think I need to ban the hubs from using the check card for a little bit.
** Gwen Stefani named her newest baby boy Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. I am sure you are thinking the exact same thing as me. What the....???? I know it as a game that David downloaded for me on the Xbox360. Weird!

What I Learned This Week: 5

I really am struggling to find things I have learned this week.

** One I know, for sure, is you definitely can do anything you put your mind to. I have been so strict and actually sticking to my Weight Watchers and am so proud of myself for it!

** The Children's Museum is free every 3rd Sunday of the month. I had no idea!

Ok, I really can't think of anything else. Sorry it's a small one this week.

What I Learned This Week: 4

** I have learned that I am lacking on my blogging lately... We went out of town 2 weeks ago now and I still haven't blogged about it. (I have a mini-list of things to post about...)

** I am *LOVING* using my slow cooker (finally.) I have had this thing for quite some time and used it once. Yes, I said once. Just this week I have already used it twice. I wish I would have discovered how much you can love a slow cooker sooner!

** Either Graycen is really smart or well, she is and there's no question about it! she's at an age which is perfect for learning. I picked up the Signing Time Volume 2 DVD from the library yesterday. We popped it in when we came home and I was cleaning up. A couple of hours later Graycen was tapping her hands together (doing the sign for shoes.) I asked her what she was doing and she looked at me and said, "shoes." She then proceeded to point her little fingers down (doing the sign for socks) and said, "socks." Then she started gripping one of her fingers with another finger (close to the sign for friend) and said "friend." I couldn't believe it! We only watched this DVD one time and she remembered the signs. What a smart little girl!

** This no caffeine thing isn't going to work. I feel better but find that I don't function as well :(

** A gift card to Cold Stone Creamery is evil when you are on Weight Watchers! But it still tastes soooooo good!!! I had the Oreo Overload and am pretty sure I used up all 35 of my 'free' points for the week.

See what Sherri learned this week!

What I Learned This Week: 3

Ok, so I skipped last week. We left for up north and I never got around to it before we left. Oh well! I still need to re-cap last weekend. I'll get to it...eventually!

** I learned that I am able to quit my job at Best Buy. I have found a job providing care for children in my home/their home. M,W,F will be here and T,TH will be at their home. It's a good situation, really. I am so excited that I will get to be spending time with my kids. YAY!

** Some people are very generous!! See here for that story.

** Graycen seems to think she is a big girl. The past 4 days have been days without a nap. You know what that means, right? Crabby toddler that wants to go to bed at hmmm... 5:30pm. I don't think so!

** My sister in law, Sherri, is an extremely talented photographer. I wish she were closer so she could take more pictures of the kids!

Ok, so there aren't really things that I learned but at the same time, they are.

What I Learned This Week: 2

Week number 2 of What I Learned This Week. I am following along with Sherri.

** Time really escapes you when you have two children. I wake up around 7:00 every morning and before I know it, it's midnight and I am dragging myself into bed. Parker is already going to be one month old on Tuesday. Where did the month go?

** I am loving meal planning and trying new meals. I am constantly on the look out online, in magazines and cookbooks to find new recipes. If you have a favorite you want to recommend, please send it to me or post it here!

** Graycen starts to act out and be 'naughty' when she is feeling the need for attention. This really just kicked in this week. Bleh!

** No matter how much caffeine I consume, I am still holding my eyes open with toothpicks. (I don't think the first thing I have posted helps this situation much..)

** I really, really don't want to go back to work in 2 weeks. David told me the other night that he would pick up a second job so I don't have to go to work. This came out of nowhere. He said he wants to do whatever he can to make it so I don't have to go back. What a sweetheart.

** McDonalds' Iced Mochas are super nummy! They are also very inexpensive. Watch out Starbucks and Caribou!

What I Learned This Week

Sherri (my sister-in-law) has started a new weekly topic on her blog called "What I Learned This Week" I decided it seems like something that might be fun to participate in and I have decided to join her. I am seeing from my list this week that some things might be totally random and off the wall things and some might be parenting related, spouse related...etc. If you decide to join in, you can let her know via her blog and post or myself and we can link up!

**A daddy long legs is NOT a spider. David found this out while we were waiting in the doctor office today for Parker's appointment. He was reading Highlights Magazine (remember the seek and finds in that magazine?!) I thought that was really interesting. Had to look it up when we got home and sure enough, they're not spiders. They only have 2 legs, not 8 and their bodies are one part, not 2. ISH ISH ISH!

**I have been reading a lot about saving money and where to be frugal. I am finding that by meal planning, I can save a lot of money. Last night I researched a ton of foods and found lots of new meals to try and if they are successful, they will go into rotation. I think I will post every time we try a new recipe! (well, if it is a success) I planned our meals for the next 2 weeks and made my grocery list accordingly - of course, checking the fliers to see where the good deals were. I only bought 6 things not on my list and 2 of those were things I needed to put on there but just forgot. The other 4 were things for David (treats, if you will) With all of that, I actually spent $31.43 less than what I had budgeted! WAHOO!!!

**Pancakes can be made ahead, frozen and reheated via the toaster or microwave when ready to eat them. I made up a batch of blueberry pancakes and a batch of chocolate chip pancakes for freezing. I am hoping this helps me manage the mornings a little better until we get on a good and solid schedule in this household!

**If I change Parker halfway through his bottle during the night, I can get him to finish it without falling asleep!
