"Did you know you were going 45 in a 30?"

That is what the police officer said to me on my way to work yesterday. Which is crazy - if you know me, you know I don't speed! I am the queen of car safety - i wear my seat belt even if I am driving the car from the front of the house to the back of the house. I have been pulled over one time in my life (yes, it is short, but still!) It was because we were in Chicago and our tabs were expiring that month - so we were pulled over. I was driving down Lexington, just coming out from under the train bridge that runs over Lexington (right next to Jessamine Street in the Como Area) when I saw the lights flash. He pulled out and got behind me - I pulled over thinking he was going to pass me, when he stopped right behind me. All I could think was "what did I do??" He came to my window and asked me if I knew I was going 45mph in a 30 - I said "no" he then said "do you think you were going 45 in a 30?" again, I said "no" he wrote me out a ticket and proceeded to tell me how I can dispute it or since my driving record is clean, I can go down and request the ticket to be suspended. If you pulled me over and wrote me a ticket, why would you tell me I can have it suspended?? It's so frustrating, I got a $170.00 ticket for something I KNOW I didn't do. You can bet I will be going down to the courthouse to request it be suspended - which is easier to do than disputing it, I would assume.

Oh no!! I'm like you... and the only speeding ticket I ever got was for going 4 miles over the speed limit. Are you kidding me?! Okay, yes, I was exceeding the speed limit, but by 4 miles on a highway. Considering everyone else goes at least 10-15 over, I didn't think that was so bad. Sigh. I hope that you can get it suspended with no problems!

Give them my name and number.. I will stand up for you. I know that you don't speed. I wonder if it was a different vehicle that went past him when his head was down so that it appeared to be you when he look up when he heard the beep or whatever it is that they hear from a speeding vehicle. You go fight it.. and you tell them.. and give them my number... love you sweetie.....
