Emilie

** I had to use the same picture that my friend, Missy, used simply because this picture is just gorgeous of the two of them and this is how I want to remember Emilie - with that smile on her face and happy! **

It is with great sadness for me to have to say - my sweet friend, Emilie, passed away last night. I got the word this morning that Emilie had passed. I don't have details yet but that really doesn't matter.

Most people would say Emilie lost her battle with cancer, but I'd like to think she WON the battle. She no longer has to be in pain. I also know she is a firm believer in God and there is no doubt she has gone to Heaven. I'd say that is a win, wouldn't you? Her life, although short, was a beautiful one. She was full of life and love. I know everyone that has known Emilie, whether it be in person or online, has been touched by her and well, by the look of all the comments on her blog - that's A LOT of people to have touched. Another win!

Please take the time to keep Emilie's husband Steve, their two beautiful boys Daniel & Benjamin and the rest of their family/friends in your thoughts.

Emilie, you're forever in our hearts and always on our minds. Rest in peace, finally. We love you.

There is no doubt that Emilie has won. It's the rest of us - her sweet family most of all - who have lost.

I love that picture of her - so smiling and in love.

You know, I had the same thought about Emilie. I found myself almost telling someone that she "lost" her battle with cancer. The phrase got stuck on my tongue, because, like you, I don't feel like she lost. She may have lost her life, but I think she truly defeated cancer's quest to destroy joy. She found it and had it, as her last Spirit article showed.

I wish that I had actually meet Emilie. Knowing her through her blog was an incredible gift.

I'm not comfortable going to her funeral since I did only know her through the internet, but just to let you know that I'm there to support you and others on that sad day.
