Wow

I can't believe we are under 2 months until Parker is due. I just can't believe it! I am 33 weeks today and that means there are only 7 weeks until I am due. I keep thinking about the "what if he's early?" well, then that would obviously mean we have less time! If he were born as early as Graycen was - we have 5 weeks and 6 days. It's crazy for me to think of there being another person in the family here in 6 weeks. It's crazy to think of 7 but 6 sounds so much sooner.
I am tackling my list and getting things checked off. I have calls made and lots of mini-lists made. I have a feeling there are lots of things I probably won't get to though.. that always leaves me feeling disappointed.. ugh! I am looking for a couple of meals to prepare and freeze for when the time comes. I obviously will not be making them yet, I just need to be ready!
Ma (David's mom) will be coming down for a couple of days when Parker is born to help us out. It's nice to have someone coming. Honestly, nobody (nope - not one single person) offered us ANY help when Graycen was born. I kept hearing all about the "when people offer to come do xxx, take it!" Well, we didn't have that, not once. So, it's nice to have someone offer this time. Especially since there will be a transition period for all of us and I know it is going to be tough.

Here's the scoop on Parker at 33 weeks:

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

I am so excited to come down. You also don't really have to worry about meals.. I can do that. Dave or you just have to let me know when I come down as to what he or you or Graycen wants to eat. My first day of Vacation I will pack all of my stuff and the minute.. that you think something is happening.. call me... you know how long it takes to get there from here. I will take care of anything that needs to be done. You can just leave me a list. Graycen and I will take care of everything for you. Dave doesn't even have to come home to check on us a phone call will do. I will need her car seat of course so we can do our shopping for meals. This is going to be so much fun... can you tell I am excited I am babbling....

He's so big! A pineapple!? Wow. That is one of the biggest fruits! i'm glad people will help you this time. It's almost not so necessary when you have your first, but i can't imagine having a newborn and a toddler and recovering from childbirth. Yuck.

i love lists, too. They make you feel like you're doing something, instead of just waiting around, you know?
