Crayons & Small Drawing Pad = Happy On-the-go toddler!

Another week of Works for Me Wednesday. You can find the full list over at Rocks In My Dryer.

If you have a kid that enjoys coloring (who am I kidding, doesn't every kid like to color?!?) then this might save the day some time! Graycen is a little color hound. If she sees a crayon, marker, pen, pencil - you name it, she will want to color with it - like now! What I have started doing is keeping a small box of crayons and a small drawing pad (cost is about $1.50 at Target for one and it's no bigger than a small book) in the diaper bag. There have been many times Graycen has had a melt down because she wants to color, we are waiting for something and none of the toys in the waiting room are making her happy, we're taking longer than expected at the store and I have nothing to occupy her... you get the idea.. and the crayons/paper have done the trick. Of course, we always have a book or two, a small toy and a little thing of bubbles in the diaper bag, too. The bubbles do wonders some times as well!

To your colors - I carry fruit snacks. They always do the trick, if you only give them one at a time, it will stretch out too. I'm getting so good at bribery (see previous post on this!)
