Music!

Yesterday was the grand opening of our store. In true Best Buy fashion - they kicked off our Grand Open with a bang! There was a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the mayor and everything. I missed it (it was at 8:45 in the morning - ish!) but I heard it was kind of neat to watch. There were giveaways and free gift cards. It was crazy! Well, it didn't really get too crazy until about 2:00 when a bunch of Emo kids started showing up in hopes of meeting the band. There were two bands that performed in the store yesterday.
The BoDeans (did the theme song for "Party of Five")

and

(the lead singer, Tom DeLonge, was the lead singer of the former band Blink 182).

I got there when The BoDeans were performing and it was soooooo loud in the store, we had to yell to each other. It was really like being at a concert. Their set was about an hour long and people seemed to really enjoy it. The took down their stuff and left. About 30 minutes later Angels & Airwaves came on. Those guys were really nice. They sat down and talked to the crowd for a little bit, did a 20 minute acoustic set (which was actually really good) and then sat down at a table and did signings. From what I heard, they were really nice. Some of the employees got to meet them - that's cool! I could care less, but I was actually wanting to meet them and get an autograph for my sisters. After they left it got really slow in the store and I was able to relax a little bit... phew!

Too bad that Dave didn't perform. That would have been fun for him. Sounds like it was way busy. That must mean that you guys got moved over to where Rainbow use to be. I forgot to ask why they wanted to go bigger.

Hang in there sweetie....Mom loves you to much.

Sounds like a successful event - but for those of us not in the know, what do you mean by "our store"? :)

Oh, Emilie, right before the holidays I had posted about how I was going back to Best Buy for the season...well, that didn't happen where it was only for the season. I am STILL there... UGH!

Wow - sounds like a busy day at work. And I've never heard of "emo" kids before. Reminds me of other names for alternative kids from back in the day - like "goth" or "punk" or "burn-outs".

I like the bo-deans... I saw them in college once.
